INTERDISCIPLINARY ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
PAPER FORMAT INSTRUCTIONS

Please use Microsoft Word and Laser Printing to type, format, and print your paper by following the instructions below. Conformation to these instructions is mandatory for your paper to be published in Interdisciplinary Environmental Review.

Font – Times

Size – 10

Style – Plain Text (Please do not underline. For emphasis, use italics. Use bold only where indicated to do so.)

Alignment – Full Justify

Margins – Left 2”, Right 2”, Top 1.75”, Bottom 1.75”

Spacing – Triple space after the title and before and after the authors’ names, double space before and after headings, single space for the paper’s body.

Paragraphs – Indent five (5) spaces.

Page Numbers – Do not insert page numbers. Instead, lightly pencil page numbers on the back of each page.

Equations – Indent five (5) spaces. Number them consecutively, place numbers within parentheses and align them at the end of the line. Double space in between equations.

Tables/Flow Charts/Graphs – Type, draw, or electronically insert them in the body of the paper. Do not cut and paste.

Titles, authors’ names and affiliations, headings – Center them all. Use BOLD UPPERCASE for title headings and bold lowercase for authors’ names and affiliation. Begin your paper with an abstract of no more than 100 words. Use upper case Roman numerals to number section headings beginning after the Abstract.

Appendix – Place appendix, if needed, at the end of the body of the paper. It should precede endnotes and references.

Endnotes – Use superscript numbers (e.g. superscript1). All endnotes should be listed in numerical order on a separate page at the end of the paper, after Appendices. Double space in between endnotes.

References – Use last name and year of publication. For example, “…this method was used by Brown (1998) and Miller (1997), and modified by other researchers for similar experiments (Osaki et. al., 1996).” All references should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the paper in a References section, after Appendices and Endnotes (if any). Double space in between references, and use a format similar to the following: Brown, J. L. “The Evolving Globe”, Journal of Global Trends, Vol. 7, No. 5, March 1998, pp.23-42. Grant, F.T. and Rasberg, D.A. Environmental Politics (Prentice-Hall, 1997).

Upon notification of review and acceptance from the editor, mail two laser-printed camera ready copies of the paper, a non-returnable computer disk containing the paper file, and a $10 submission fee drawn on a U.S. bank, all in a cushioned envelope that protects the contents, to:
