The IEA is an educational, non-profit organization whose functions are neither “lobbying” nor “watch-dog” in nature. It was started by individuals from several different disciplines who believe that environmental problems require an interdisciplinary approach that needs to be clearly reflected in an organization dedicated to discussing these issues. The IEA is responsible for the organization of the annual International Interdisciplinary Conference on the Environment (IICE). Fully-reviewed Proceedings from the previous conferences are available.
The IEA welcomes individual members from all disciplines, professions, and points of view. Membership in the IEA provides a copy of the Proceedings and contact with an international network of professionals and concerned lay persons in all facets of environmental work and thought. Membership fees also support the various activities of the Association.
To help carry out its mission, the IEA also welcomes Institutional Members. Institutional Members are business firms, academic institutions, governmental units, and other organizations that share the IEA’s educational objectives. These members are listed prominently in the Conference Program and Proceedings, the journal Interdisciplinary Environmental Review, all Announcements, and in a display at the Conference.
The IEA has established Sponsoring, Supporting, and Contributing Institutional Memberships. All Institutional Members receive the Conference Proceedings and are entitled (among other things) to waived registration fees for IICE conferences. For all membership information, see the membership page or use the application/subscription form.
Interdisciplinary Environmental Review
The IEA is responsible for the publication of the journal Interdisciplinary Environmental Review, an international journal for interdisciplinary research and survey papers on all aspects of the natural environment. For information on subscription rates or manuscript submission, please visit the IER web page.
